The IAAM "A" and "B" Conference Golf Championship resumes today, Wednesday May 14th

Three-way tie atop the individual leaderboard after first day of A Conference golf championship; DeBrigida leads by a stroke in the B

Bryn Mawr sophomore Julianna Ishii, Roland Park Country School sophomore Sloane Mitchell and Mount de Sales senior Lani Park fired 35’s to share the lead in the first day of the A Conference golf championship tournament Monday afternoon at Fox Hollow Golf Course in Timonium.

RPCS senior Ashby McGill was one stroke off the pace with Bryn Mawr juniors Tatyana Smith and Caitlyn Navaleza two behind.

Bryn Mawr’s Maddie Navaleza, Roland Park junior Ella Clapp and St. Paul’s School for Girls senior Annie Eck all carded 39’s.

SPSG sophomore Isabel Knott rounded out the top 10 with a 42.

Defending champion Bryn Mawr and Roland Park, separated by a single stroke in last year’s team standings, are deadlocked at 69 heading into Tuesday’s action at the same site (weather permitting). St. Paul’s School for Girls (74), Mount de Sales (75), Archbishop Spalding (80) and McDonogh (81) followed the leaders.

Senior Gianna DeBrigida leads the B Conference with a 43, just ahead of Maryvale’s Mia Compton (44) and Garrison Forest’s Sophie Epstein (45). Mercy’s Hanna DeMario (46), JC’s Maddie Brzozowski (47), Garrison Forest’s Kelsey Riggleman (47), Maryvale’s Harper Jackson (47), Mercy’s Brooke Mellendick (51), JC’s Sam Cullison (52), Mercy’s Tia Lawrence (52) and Amelia Davis (52) and Notre Dame Prep’s Katy Stansbury (52) followed.

Two-time defending champion John Carroll (85) has a slight edge over Maryvale (87) and Mercy (87) in the team chase with Garrison (88), NDP (94), St. Vincent Pallotti (114) and Catholic High (118) trailing.

Play is slated to resume Wednesday at the same site.
