About Lily: Lily’s outstanding defensive performance (40 digs) was a major part of the Sailors’ 25-19, 22-25, 22-25, 25-18, 15-13 victory over three-time defending A Conference champion Maryvale last week, prompting her mother, Mount de Sales coach Karen Farr, to call Lily “the backbone of the defense.”

Lily, who has produced 202 digs, 10 kills, 17 assists,19 aces and a 95-percent serving rate this fall, said that the Sailors have built a positive bond this season and “are encouraged by the win” over Maryvale.

“We supported each other and didn’t let ourselves get down,” she continued. “I was excited and shocked. We’ve lost to Maryvale every year I’ve been at Mount de Sales. They are such a great team, and I’m happy we came together for the win.”
