Senior Rachel Lee and sophomore Paige Warren both fired a 36 in the second round of the A Conference golf championship at Fox Hollow on Tuesday afternoon to lead Bryn Mawr (145) to its third consecutive team title, edging Archbishop Spalding (148).

Roland Park Country School was third (160).

Warren (74) took the A Conference individual crown, finishing four strokes ahead of defending individual champ Lee (78) and six strokes better than Lauren Lombardo (80) of Spalding, which shared the team title with the Mawrtians last spring.

Annie Wright of Mount de Sales Academy (86), Spalding’s Megan Garvey (87) and Katherine Taylor of Roland Park Country School (87) followed the leaders and also earned All-Conference honors.

Warren, who carded a 38 to Lee’s 42 in the opening round, bogeyed the first two holes on Tuesday without losing her cool.

“We still had seven holes to play,” she said.

After she parred the third hole and eagled the five-par fourth hole, she was back at par and willing to keep moving forward.

“It allowed me to be more aggressive,” Warren said, noting that she then bogeyed the fifth hole and parred No. 6.

The eighth hole found her struggling after being “rough off the tee,” before hitting a three-wood 240-yards to within 40 feet of the pin.

She eventually drained a 15-foot putt to save par and maintain the lead.

Warren said that she “chunked” her second shot on No. 9 and ultimately dropped in a 10-footer to save par again and wrap up the individual and team titles.

She added that the Bryn Mawr coach March Klein and her staff are big reasons why the Mawrtians have been so successful.

Warren also praised her teammates for working hard and supporting each other.

Klein said that Lee and Warren were “flip-flopping all year” for the No. 1 individual spot.

“The team is interested in rooting for each other and the other team,” Klein said. “And they’re interested in spreading the love of golf.”
