About Shannon: With Shannon at the top of her game, Notre Dame Prep was not going to be denied its first A Conference swimming title in nearly a decade.

NDP coach Terri Byrd and senior co-captain Tess Lankford both described Shannon — who prevailed in the 200 and 500-yard freestyles and was also a big part of two winning relays — as the team MVP after the Blazers secured the championship.

“Shannon is a true team player,” Byrd said.” She has such immense talent and work ethic to develop that talent, and yet remains humble and supportive of every swimmer on the team. She is absolutely so much fun to watch and so much fun to have on the team. I can’t wait to see what next year brings.”

“Shannon is amazing,” Tess said. “She anchored our 400 free relay and does everything she needs to do (to make the team better).
